Ask me about your thesis or your love life.

Welcome to Sir G’s Tips on Research, Planning and Love: the blog!  The inclusion of the word “love” with “research” and “planning” is incongruous, much like the title of Robert Pirsig’s book, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. What does love have to do with research and planning? As much as Zen Buddhism has something to do with motorcycle maintenance.

Why was this blog created?

I have been teaching English for a few years. Among these are research writing courses and literature subjects. Sometimes the discussions can get tedious and boring (even for me!) But when I say, “It’s just like in love…” during the discussion, my students’ eyes light up! This blog is an attempt to show the connections between research and literature with love.

Another reason is that this blog will be different than my first two ones, Eat. PRAY. Sleep. and Instructional Minutes. These two blogs are more “serious”: the former contains articles ranging from theology to technology; the latter is an educational blog. I made this blog for content that won’t fit in those blogs. I also intend the contents here to be shorter. I am also opening this blog to some guest contributors to give variety to the content.

I hope you enjoy reading Tips on Research, Planning, and Love and I hope that you’ll learn a thing or two about research, planning, and love.

Sir G
